EDIT2 HD UPGRADE
During the coming weeks, we will be rebuilding our existing
digital edit suite, Edit2, to achieve full integration of our
Avid Media Composer HD editing system.
The current edit suite, commissioned in 2000, had given 15 years
faultless service to over 100 productions. For the past year,
since we acquired our Avid Media Composer HD system, we have
been waiting for a suitable pause in production so that the
integration and modernization of Edit2 can be accomplished.
For a company that ascribes to the "hand-made"
approach to television production, the refurbishment of Edit2 is
a similarly "hand-made" project, that will require
over a months work re-cabling and reconfiguring the entire
system, providing the infrastructure for HDSDI/SDI signals as
well as integrating the existing analogue audio and video
technology into the new suite.
The new suite is expected to be commissioned in the new year.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY FROM ALASKA COMPLETED
A socio-economic study of the impact of the development of the
Alpine oilfield on the Native village of Nuiqsut, Alaska, has
been undertaken and completed for ConocoPhillips Alaska Inc and
Kuukpik Corporation.
The study, a 200 page document entitled "The Next
Horizon", has been researched and written by Adrian Redmond
and Stig Thornsohn, and has involved four field-study trips to
Alaska since 2012 with over 24 weeks fieldwork in the Native
village of Nuiqsut and the adjacent Alpine oilfield. This
project has been undertaken in parallel to the production of a
television documentary of the same name, which is due for
release in 2017.
Once the socio-cultural study has been published by our clients
in Alaska, copies will be available on this website in pdf.
format. Please contact Adrian Redmond on +45 20 78 52 66 for
further details.

A NEW PRODUCT PRESENTATION FOR LR MARINE
As part of our on-going cooperation with LR Marine, Channel 6
Television has recently completed a location shoot covering the
installation of a new pipe-insulation system on the chemical
tanker Falstria Swan whilst the vessel was undergoing
refurbishment in the Port of Fredrikshavn, Denmark.
With less than a week to complete the installation of their new
Insul-Click pipe insulation system, LR Marine engineers worked
round the clock to ensure delivery on time. A crew from Channel
6 Television was there to document the process and to provide
footage for subsequent product information films. As is usual on
such industrial assignments, Channel 6 Television also took
stills photos of the entire process and will be producing
printed product information material for LR Marine in the coming
weeks.
Industrial film and photography mission such as this are a
challenge for any production company. Whilst everyone wants to
see great pictures, neither the installation team or the
shipowner are willing to waste a minute of the in-dock time as
the vessel must return to charter at the end of the week. Such
are the conditions when working in the marine, offshore and
petrochemical industries, where the core industrial process and
safety considerations have first priority.
Channel 6 Television has previously produced industrial films
for LR Marine and is currently working on other projects for the
company.
